Enrollment Dues

I agree to pay enrollment dues of $145.00 by September 1, 2020.

General Membership and Meetings
I will attend monthly new member and general membership meetings between September 2020 and May 2021.  I will discuss with my new member advisor if I am unable to attend any of these meetings. (New member meetings typically fall on the first Tuesday of the month, while general membership meetings are held on the third Tuesday of the month.)

Commitment to Voluntarism

I am committed to volunteering my time to make my community a better place. I understand the importance of the League's mission, and am committed to dedicating my time in the following ways:

Festival of Trees Task Force (fall)

As Festival of Trees (FOT) is our biggest fundraising event of the year, the committees involved need extra help to make the weekend of FOT run smoothly. I will work closely with a new member advisor and chair of FOT in order to understand how my assistance will impact FOT, and will dedicate my time leading up to the event as well as the weekend of FOT (November) to help ensure that the event is a success.

Community Impact or Communications Council Special Project (spring)

Beginning in January, I will work closely with either the Community Impact Council or the Communications Council on a special project designed to help new members get a better feel for what those councils do in League, which will help prepare me for the placement process that takes place in the spring.

Additional Expectations of New Members 

1. I will abide by the Bylaws and Standing Rules of the Junior League of Champaign-Urbana at all times.
2. I affirm my commitment to the Junior League of Champaign-Urbana's mission.
3. I will participate in events and activities on the League's year at a glance calendar to the best of my ability.
4. I will stay informed of the League's work and remain connected with the League throughout the year.

Activation
New members are activated into active members annually at the March General Membership meeting (GMM). In order to be activated at the March GMM, I must have my 2021-2022 dues paid, or have a payment plan in place by the Monday before the March GMM. I must also have successfully completed my volunteer assignments from fall and spring, and attended general membership and new member meetings over the course of my new member year. If any of these expectations are unmet, I may not be voted into active status.

JLCU Photo Release

For good and valuable consideration, the receipt and sufficiency of which is hereby acknowledged, I hereby authorize the Junior League of Champaign-Urbana, its successors and assigns to:

a) Use photographs of me for advertising, publicity, commercial or other business purposes, and

b) Use my name in captions, articles, and other references to the photographs described in paragraph a).

I understand that the term "photograph" as used herein encompasses still photographs, motion picture footage and/or electronic media.

I further consent to the publication, reproduction and use of said photographs by Junior League of Champaign-Urbana, its successors, assigns and agents. Further, I understand that others, with or without the consent of Junior League of Champaign-Urbana may use and/or reproduce such photographs. I hereby release Junior League of Champaign-Urbana, and any entities associated with it, their directors, officers, agents, employees and customers, and appointed advertising agents, their directors, officers, agents and employees from all claims of every kind on account of such use.
